12/16/25 11:30am. I went for Taco Tuesday and it was busy. Maybe because Oak Park height is closed and I saw that manager working at this location now. It's fairly quiet inside. This location had black pepper which I like on tacos so I was surprised by that. Wi-Fi is weak and was hard to get a cell signal. Parking is a little different in that you can't park right in front like other Taco John's. There is seating outside. There are two restrooms unisex and the one I went into was clean.

I went to 4 different grocery stores looking for taco salad bowls. Defeated, I drive home. Then I see it, the chicken salad taco bowl ad in the window. I would discover not only could I buy a taco salad shell, but that it would still be warm, and come in a container to keep it safe for the ride home. All that for a mere dollar, and some change. Out of pure greed, I purchased 2, knowing I could've easily paid double that for 1 anywhere else. Thank you John Taco for being there in my time of need.

I am not generslly a fan of Tex-Mex due to serious anaphylactic reactions to tomatoes and onions, but my wife really likes the tacos and taco bravos. The kids meal with chicken and potato ones works great for me!

Taco John's Oakdale has not only the best midwest taste and style that Taco John's is famous for, and potato Olés with nacho cheese of course! We had a great time in drive thru. The staff eas funny and and accommodating with my many special requests. The only tiny, tiny problem is you can't buy their amazing merch shirts, make them available for sale!! Please. All of our hard shell tacos 🌮 were crispy, the street taco trio spicy and served with limes and of course the cheese and Olès were steaming hot! Eating in your vehicle watching the lake is the best seating at your next visit to Taco Joh
