Emily★★★★★a fun find inside the Ramada! Place is unassuming, but the food was really good! we got the goat and the chili cheese dosas, both were packed with filling and flavor! the tikka fries were okay, the fries were crispy and delicious but the tikka was on the sweet side and didn't have too much flavor. we had a peanut allergy in our party and they were accommodating and let us know which items to not order! it was kind of quiet in the establishment, wish they had some music playing!
Ashwin Mudigonda★★★★★The bar was low for this place. Literally in the basement. I walked in to the smell of Fabulso and knew I was at a place that ran a shoestring business. The decor would make a Spartan proud - a few tables and chairs, a trash can, and a portable washbasin. You hear the sounds of the kitchen as you wait on your food. Alex W★★★Tasty Dosas in generous portions. Great place for a healthy meal in downtown Oakland. A speakeasy style cafe in the basement of the Ramada. Atmosphere is lack luster, but the food is worth it. Will return.
Krishna Shastry★★★★★Good, authentic South Indian food is hard to find. Id Cafe isn’t exactly easy to find either. It’s located at the basement level of the Ramada Inn. However, the food is fantastic. Truly South Indian sambar, great chutneys and excellent dishes. Syed, the man behind the counter had great suggestions, was sensitive to food allergies and had great energy. I got idly sambar (large portions) and Hyderabad bandi dosa to go. Kudos to the chef. For a place that’s only been open for 12 days, it is racking up reviews and business. Worth multiple visits.
