“Love this place!! I always order their pork katsu but this time I tried the udon curry (new item) and it was so legit. The flavor was spot on. Authentic home style Japanese in the North Park Slope. Highly recommended”

Joelle Palermo★★★★★This has become one of our favorite Japanese restaurants. The food is consistently delicious, especially the sushi, and the menu is updated regularly, which keeps us coming back to try new things. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and makes us feel right at home. We wanted to leave a review because this is one of those hidden gems that deserves more attention and more customers. If you visit, be sure to save room for the matcha pudding dessert—it’s absolutely delicious and definitely worth trying.
Unna Camille Mangune★★★★★My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and had a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel comfortable right away. The service was amazing. Our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and accommodating throughout our meal. We ordered the shishito peppers and the pork katsu curry lunch set, and both dishes were outstanding. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the curry was easily one of the best curries we’ve ever tasted. Every bite was delicious, and it was clear that a lot of care went into preparing the food. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!
Virginia Lau★★★The food was good, portions were generous, and overall it was solid value for money. Everything was enjoyable and satisfying, though nothing particularly stood out as memorable. Based on the food, atmosphere, and service, I initially felt a 4-star rating was fair. What changed my impression was an interaction at the end of the meal. A server encouraged us to leave a Google review and said that posting photos would qualify us for a $10 discount. After I submitted a 4-star review with photos, another staff member informed me that the discount would only be honored if I changed my rating to 5 stars, explaining that a 4-star review would lower the restaurant’s overall average. I declined the discount because I believe reviews should reflect a customer’s genuine experience rather than be tied to a specific rating. While I appreciate businesses encouraging feedback, I don’t think customers should feel pressured to leave only 5-star reviews in order to receive a promised incentive. The mea
jeff symon★★★★★We had such a wonderful experience at Wasan Brooklyn. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. We ordered three bento boxes — two chicken bentos and the black miso cod bento — and every single dish exceeded expectations. The black miso cod was especially outstanding: perfectly cooked, flavorful, tender, and honestly one of the best we’ve had. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and everything from the spring rolls to the vegetables and sides was prepared with great attention to detail. The atmosphere felt warm, relaxed, and authentic — the perfect place to enjoy a meal with family or friends. Service was friendly and attentive, and the overall dining experience felt thoughtful from beginning to end. We will definitely be coming back the next time we are in Brooklyn. Highly recommend Wasan to anyone looking for high-quality Japanese comfort food in a cozy setting!

Vincent Harrison★★★★★Had a great experience at Wasan. I ordered the fried chicken curry and my friend got the vegetable croquette curry, and both dishes were absolutely delicious. The curry was rich, flavorful, and comforting, while the fried chicken was perfectly crispy and tender. The vegetable croquettes were also excellent—crispy on the outside and packed with flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was attentive without feeling rushed. The restaurant has a warm, cozy atmosphere that makes it a great spot for a casual meal with friends. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. Highly recommend!
