My Kindergartener just took a field trip with her Girl Scout troop where they were able to dip and decorate several donuts in the donut shop - it was a wonderful experience and the girls had a blast! This isn't the cheapest donut shop around, but the experience of seeing so many different donut flavors is worth it - and the woman at the counter was extremely knowledgeable about what every donut was, as well as friendly and patient while we went through each option. My wife and I will definitely be back.
