My brother was visiting from Texas and we went for breakfast. Classic diner fare, very good. We went fairly early and hung out and talked for a long time. The place didn't get crowded and the coffee kept flowing. Bravo!

The service can be very sketchy here, some are off-hand, abrupt & inattentive. It's a gamble. Lunch special was worth going for. Recently, I had the Friday Beef Stew (see photo). BIG chunks of lean prime rib in a heavy tomato & celery sauce, combined with monster chunks of potato: all thoroughly cooked together Superb. Last month, I had a monster Buffalo chicken tenders salad. It was loaded with long strips of freshly roasted chicken bathed in a Buffalo coating. The zing was mild, but cumulative. We went to Double T on a Wednesday at 5 o’clock. Not very many patrons were in the restaurant and we would shortly find out why. The kitchen staff failed to make the grade. I ordered the cheeseburger sliders(3), and the onion ring tower. The cheeseburger sliders were precooked, very dry, with a small piece of cheese that was not melted. No garnish, no pickle, just 3 lonely dry sliders on a large plate. The onion ring tower was a flat blob of overcooked, burnt breaded grease. Just went there for breakfast. Our waitress had an attitude from when we sat down. She seemed to be in a rush although the restaurant was not very busy. Our food came out 5 minutes after we ordered (never a good sign). Our pancakes, scrapple and toast were ice cold. The butter wouldnt melt on the pancakes. My pancakes had a hair in them. The manager did not seem to care when we told him. No one apologized. I got an omlette instead. That was actually cooked to order. Waitress did not come check on us after the food was brought out either time. Waitress only returned to the table to bring the ch
