Thomas Whitehouse★★★★The first impression was the friendliness and courtesy of the staff. Everyone seemed happy, open and helpful. The place is casual, but nice, if a little plain. My mom and I ordered chile relleno. The taste was good but mine lacked the spiciness usual with poblano peppers. Mom's was spicier. Both of us missed the tomato salsa often used to top the dish. My wife's beef caldo was delicious and big enough for two meals. The server told us we can request the salsa on top next time. If it's good I'll raise the food to a 5.
A J★★★★Went there for breakfast. The platters are large and very well served. The food is excellent and the tortillas are fresh made. Coffee was so-so. Add more vanilla cream to mask the taste. Prices were reasonable as well. Their menu is consistent and the food is fresh made and very authentic. Parking is limited and tight, but well worth the trouble. Eat here when you visit Costco of Pharr or any of the area clinics and medical plazas.

The Chile Relleno was cold, the rice was warm, the refried beans were hot and the enchilada was hot but you can tell everything was reheated. The only good thing were the corn tortillas which were freshly made. Also. The music was ehhhh, not everyone likes Banda, ewww, that's all they played. Also the windows were dirty, the place needs a lot of work. I paid $22 and change. Definitely will not be returning. And the tea was powdered tea, not brewed. To the manager or owner, if you want the restaurant to s
Ric Tamez★★★★★This 4th of July and we were blessed to find Sombrero restaurant OPEN for business on Jackson/Ridge Road in McAllen. We were a party of four; my wife, her sister, my brother law and I. We weren’t actually sure about this restaurant because none of us had been there before. Thank GOD 🙏🏼 our experience turned out to be a good one. Overall the restaurant was clean, the staff and our waitress was helpful, friendly, and attentive. Each plate was freshly cooked to our satisfaction (see attached photos). We were all in agreement that the prices were satisfying to say the least. Today, Som
