I’ve never been so excited to find a spot that opens at 3 AM, but Eggcellence Cafe truly hits the mark for late-night (or very early morning) comfort food. The country fried steak and eggs I ordered were simply outstanding—perfectly crispy, tender meat smothered in savory gravy, with eggs cooked to perfection. It’s exactly what you crave after a night out, and the portions are more than generous. The real star, though, was my server Vanessa. My sister and I discovered this place a few weekends ago because we wanted breakfast (at 4am) and didn't want to do Denny's or Ihop. It was the best discovery we could've made. We've been here twice so far and both times the food has been incredible. Going super early is nice because there are rarely any other patrons there so our food is quick and the service is great. I'm sure even during busy hours both are equally great. Their sausage gravy is one of the best I've had in a very long time. We just moved to Vernon Hills but still plan on coming here for breakfast.
