I was stuck in Richmond due to the blizzard up north a few days ago. I decided to check out what was on Door Dash. I came across the Cocky Rooster. The name of the place peaked my interest. The menu was impressive, the reviews were great. So I decided to place an order. I ordered 10 wings split, smoked instead of fried. Korean BBQ and Garlic Parmesan, an order of Tater Tots, and a side of veggies. The portion size was huge. I like that the wings weren't scrawny and dry. Cocky Rooster is basically the confident kid in class who actually does his homework. The chicken? Hot, crispy, seasoned enough to keep you quiet for a minute. The menu wanders all over the poultry universe—sandwiches, wings, tenders, sauces—like it’s trying to prove something, and honestly it kind of succeeds. Service is solid, no eye-rolling, no attitude, food comes out fresh instead of heat-lamp sad. Then Richmond reminds you it’s Richmond by slapping that restaurant tax on top. I thought I’d give this place a try because I had really good review turned out wrong. I even called the had my wings.Remade because I wasn’t cooked enough in the second time there’s so much sauce at the bottom of the tray that it comes in, you can’t even pick them up and eat them without making a mess that’s part of it is football night both times just wasn’t cooked long enough
