I went to Chulla's because I was craving a different type of cuisine and to find a restaurant that has unapologetic African cuisine was amazing! You cannot dine with African cuisine without an okra dish, and they're version of okra jambalaya was delicious! It was filling, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. WOW! TAMBA, the restaurant ombudsman made me eat my grilled vegetables! 😄 I'm sure they were very good for me, but I needed some salt and bacon wrapped up in them... Lol!

What a great restaurant to open up! Tamba and the others do their part to make you feel welcome, and it is very clean. As others have mentioned the hibiscus drink is so delicious! I have tried the fish shawarma, which I was a bit curious about. It was SO GOOD! Very refreshing. And the fries are so tasty. I think he said they boil the potatoes before frying them. I have had two varieties of the stew, the vegetable and the jungle beans. Honestly, there's so much flavor to the stews. Both were very warm, and perfect for a cool evening. Super friendly staff and very relaxed! The food was amazing and I'm so surprised at how empty it was when I came in. It felt very homey, portions were HUGE, and I even got some free samples.
