If you’re in downtown San Diego and looking for a cozy breakfast or brunch spot, Cafe 222 is definitely worth a visit. From the moment you walk in, the place has a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. It’s not overly fancy, but that’s part of its charm—it feels like a classic local café where the focus is really on good food and friendly service. The menu has a great variety of breakfast and brunch options, and everything tastes fresh and well-prepared. Their pancakes are especially popular, and it’s easy to see why—they’re fluffy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The omel

We went here once… like over a decade ago, probably longer. But there is almost always a line of people waiting, and there are a ton of places near by. What does that tell you? That it’s a good place, that people like it, and that it’s worth it. And you’re right to think that. Service is quick, friendly to a fault. Standard San Diego Breakfast stuff? Yeah, mostly. We had Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs because all the breakfast diners have disappeared from San Diego. Great breakfast spot. After several days in San Diego with good breakfasts it was nice to find a place that served more of a traditional American breakfast. They did have many choices so it was not a boring breakfast place. Staff was very friendly and helpful answering any questions. Food came out quick and hot. One of the better chicken fried steaks I've had in a while. Wait was not too long. Would definitely recommend trying this place if you want a real breakfast. Not just avocado toast.

Nice little breakfast place. Everyone I was with enjoyed their food. They got the blueberry cornbread waffle, eggs Benedict, and strawberry Nutella waffle. I stuck to the egg and potatoes and was pleased. The potatoes were cooked so well. I would definitely return to this place if I’m ever back in town.
