Highly recommend Sushi Maruyama!! Best bang per buck imo in the bay area. I have had few fancy Omakase sushi ($300/pp) and have left disappointed. I have dined at this place at least 5-6 times and it has always been consistently great! Food: love the seasonal omakase and the cod! Highly recommend their toro, hotate, uni, and barracuda. Went recently on 6/4 and the the nigiris were so good that i stopped taking pics 😅 Service: staff is friendly and maintains a good balance between checking on you and letting you enjoy your dinner. They also provide delicious yuzu cheesecake for special celeb

First, the good: Sushi was very good quality. The fish was fresh, and the way they presented their omakase set (which is pretty good value @63$ for 8 pieces) was creative and tasty. Highlights were the bluefin tuna with truffle/caviar, and the ora king salmon with truffle. Next, the less good: We felt rushed during our time here. We were one of the only people in the restaurant at the time, but the chef continued looking at our dishes between each course, and immediately moved us to the next course as we picked up each piece of sushi. There also wasn’t any introduction to each course, so I

Excellent meal here. The miso sea bass was delicious, and the nigiri in the seasonal omakase was great. Wagyu nigiri was a standout. Our waitress/server was fantastic also! one of the best sushi/omakases in san mateo in my opinion! pricing is absolutely reasonable too.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here, and it was absolutely incredible. This is one of our favorite spots and we come back often. The $63 omakase is hands down one of the best deals around. Every course is thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and consistently delicious. We also love adding a few of the daily special nigiri. They’re always ultra fresh and seriously impressive. Do yourself a favor and start with the Wagyu tacos. They’re an absolute must order and set the tone for an amazing meal. The service is just as outstanding as the food. The menu evolves constantly bas
