Dinner at Stella was outstanding from start to finish. The calamari was absolutely delightful and so much better than the typical fried calamari — light, tender, and full of flavor. The focaccia was perfect: warm, soft, and beautifully baked, and it was especially great for soaking up the sauce from the calamari. The seared halibut was especially impressive. Halibut is such a lean fish that it can be difficult to cook well without drying it out, but this one was perfectly prepared — glassy, moist, and beautifully tender. If you go for brunch, get their French toast! It is the fluffiest French toast I have ever seen! This restaurant has a lot of vintage charm, great service, and great food. Can't wait to eat here again!

Boy when you make a reservation with friends for something special like Easter brunch for $60, you expect something special. So disappointing. The pastry plate was an odd assortment of nut and chocolate muffins, a small mushroom pie, and a day old croissant. Nothing on that plate was fresh. Beet salad - tough to mess up beets. Lettuce was crisp and perfect. The lamb was a prime rib looking mound, mine was rolled in a salt bath, with some kind of melted potatoes tucked underneath. I didn't even eat it after 1 bite. Stella is great for outdoor seating, also love their interiors inside. Good service and food. Not bad option for dining and people watching since it’s connected to Hotel Sorrento with valet in front.
