Alex G★★★★This spot is a Venice Beach classic. Rough around the edges but full of charm. The beachfront location is hard to beat for a laid-back meal. The pulled pork and fried chicken sandwiches were solid and satisfying, though a bit heavy on the salt. Service was professional and attentive. It is not perfect but the effortless beach energy and solid food keep me coming back.
Greg Hodson★★★★★We went down to Venice Beach purely for the experience and that it certainly was after coming from Santa Monica Pier. We had a great walk around this area for a while checking out the scenery. We decided why not try out The Sidewalk Cafe well a couple of cold beers and one of the best chicken burritos I have ever had and extremely filling. This place gets packed at times but you can see why for its food and location is an example of good tradition. Keep up the good work you guys. Loved the experience of your cafe.
Brad Kosar★★★★★The beer is cold and the food is pretty decent. The place is a little run down, but so is most of Venice Beach. This is probably a great place during summer afternoons to enjoy a cold drink. I experienced dinner on a Weds (1/14/26) January...a time where some grime isn't as easily overlooked as a peak summer day. The Cali BLT was quite good and they had a wide selection of beers. I ate at the bar and both bartenders were attentive and friendly. Bottom line, good spot for a drink, and surprisingly good food.
Jenn Bec.★★★★★This place is an iconic Venice beach institution. They serve classic American dishes at a perfect beachfront location for people watching. We had biked 7 miles and were feeling a Bloody Mary and some bar bites. Hasn’t been here in years but gave it a go. Bomb Bloody Mary comes with bacon, olives, celery, orange slide and pineapple slice. So good! And micheladas are delicious too. Same for the buffalo wings. Staff are nice and the crowd is diverse and entertaining. Highly recommend for a casual bite to eat with a side of people watching.
