Janie Guetzow★★I'm 0/2 eating out this week! Monterrey Cafe turned into my 2nd disappointment of the week. After a movie in Weslaco, my sister wanted to eat local, so we opted for MC. I had seen videos and pics of their food online and it looked good. We arrived on Sunday at 2:15pm. I ordered the fried chicken plate and asked the waitress which side she'd recommend. She stated the fries were good and crispy so we went with that. My sister order the chicken and beef sincronizadas(?). Our food was lackluster and left plenty to be desired. Fajitas/chicken are not as over cooked and hard as previously unless you order the salad with chicken. The tortilla recipe has improved. Now they only get hard as a rock once they have cooled down so eat them up quickly. The rolls continue to lack any flavor. As a nice bonus, they offer you a to go drink at checkout.
