“Pleasant and quiet cafe near Leopard’s Hill. Plenty of seating with an upstairs area. Bao buns are the highlight of the menu. Beautiful presentation and delicious for the price (K150). Service so far has been friendly and quick. The Bao Cafe adds a nice variety to the options out on Leopards Hill.”

Gibson Chitunda★★★★Wonderfully located, this cafe is serene and peaceful. Not much in the way of deco, but the architecture is beautiful and is let to speak for itself. The rooftop seating has a good view of the surrounding. I ordered the burger and chips, the patty is tender, the chips were blasè though. But overall, I enjoyed the meal and the whole experience.
Aleksandar Marković★★★★Discovered this at the beginning of 2026 near Village Mall, Bao Cafe boasts an authentic Thai/Asian chef (at least then and), crafting flavours that transport you to Bangkok amid Lusaka's bustle. Also nice standout - slushies: icy, fruity perfection for scorching days (I must edit this and add that at the end of June 2026, slushies I had are not the same as they were after opening this place, which was disappointing). In general, a somewhat cosy vibe with a fresh menu (bao buns, dumplings, Asian fusion), prompt service, and relatively fair prices. Must-visit for Thai street cravings, but be aware that the space on top, and on one side, looks and feels quite sterile.
