Had an absolutely wonderful meal at Makan. We were there for dinner and we ordered a few starters and mains which we all shared. The best dish out of them all would have to be the chicken satay. The chicken was tender and served on a plate of amazing peanut sauce. Could have easily had many servings of that. The beef satay was good too but not as flavourful as the chicken. And the meat was a little chewy. The Nasi Goreng Kampung was excellent. It was packed full of prawns and had a distinct wok flavour. The Kwetiau Goreng (flat noodle) was so good. The noodles were just the right level of chew

Makan on Little Collins Street was a lovely surprise. It’s a little hidden away from the main street, which we didn’t expect at first, but once we found it the visit was definitely worth it. The food was delicious and quite authentic. In fact, some of the flavours reminded me of the food I had in Bali, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The spices were well balanced and the portion sizes were generous. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I would definitely come back again.

What a wonderful experience! Good ambience. My kid is picky when it comes to satay skewers but this one, she loved. The meats were tender and the portions were good. It was a busy night, tables were all booked but the service did not falter. Will definitely come back.

Hidden Indonesian – Collins Street Laneway You'd never find it without a map. But once you do, the room is surprisingly full. There's a restaurant on a Collins Street side alley that doesn't announce itself. No signage, no foot traffic, no reason to turn down the laneway unless Google Maps told you to. And yet, when you push through the door, the place is busy. Word has travelled. The room is calm. Tables are well spaced, noise levels medium – a rare combination for a city spot. Families and office groups sit comfortably, lingering over plates. The staff are genuinely friendly, unhurried. Y
