Modus Brewery has a good atmosphere and the beer was definitely the highlight — a solid range and well brewed. The food was okay overall, but felt a bit overpriced for the portion sizes. Not bad for a casual visit if you’re mainly there for the beer, but the food didn’t quite match the price.

Modus Brewery, originally from Newcastle, brings the same laid-back but serious craft vibe up to the Northern Beaches. I had the Noisy Boy — a hazy style beer that’s citrusy and aromatic, finishing with a clean, delightful bitterness. Easy to drink, hard to stop.

Modus has been an institution. Independent and been around since the early days of.craft brewing. I was introduced to modus with the red Tennant roughly 10 years ago and I've been in love ever since. Now living in Mona Vale I feel as if moved just to be closer to a brewery close to my heart. The staff are friendly. The beers are fresh and often new. But more importantly it's about community. Highly recommend modus!

On a busy Sunday with kids parties we were given a private tasting area in the brewery between the stainless steel tanks.Real authentic. The hostess checked on us several times and even offered us a couple extra tastings. Terrific beers We did the core paddle and the explorer paddle. We liked modus pale ale and New Zealand IPA as our top contenders. There was a SAMPKE stout too that was terrific. Congratulations Grant and Jaz you two have excelled. Modus is a destination worth visiting. It was much bigger than I expected, after our numerous Modus Operandi visits in Mona Vale. Great job
