We found Lighthouse Bistro through Google Maps while looking for one of the best restaurants in Nanaimo, and after seeing the waterfront location and reviews, we decided to come here and try it for ourselves. To second what was said in other reviews, this place is slow and understaffed. It took several minutes for us to be even noticed at the entrance and a large party was welcomed first, even though they arrived after us. We finally got shown to a table, but nobody greeted or helped us for at least 15 minutes. The manager eventually came over and took it upon himself to take our orders since the waiters seemed to be busy elsewhere. There were only three of them and they were very busy and stressed. We stopped by this restaurant while passing through after a long journey, so we especially appreciated the chance to sit down and enjoy a good meal in a welcoming atmosphere. Service and food were exceptional. The restaurant was very busy Jing was running to make sure her guests were taken care of. Drinks were spot on. Recommend the Lighthouse shaft and Caesar. The 2 piece halibut and chips was perfect to share. Tartar sauce was delicious. We will come back again.
