Prices are reasonable and quality is high. However, no air conditioning and smoking seemed to be allowed which is not a good idea.

My family and I were out for a morning stroll touring downtown Alex when we passed by this place. I stopped in my tracks and said, "What's that fantastic smell?" So we went in to discover the most beautiful setup of varieties of coffee beans. I snapped some photos because the place was so cozy and I was getting historical vibes from it, and I was right. After my husband chatted with the man behind the counter he relayed to me that this little coffeehouse is in fact very old and very famous, opening in the very early 1900's. There's a quaint little bar for customers to sit and sip their coffee and I just loved the idea of enjoying that during the winter months where you can keep warm from the Mediterranean winds. We ordered a quarter kilo of Turkish coffee loaded with cardamom as a gift for my mother-in-law as she's a huge lover of this type of coffee, and we headed out. The coffee gave a delicious, strong smell in the car ride back to Cairo. What a lovely find!
