A quaint pub with cozy atmosphere and excellent service. We were made to feel welcome and very well attended to. Their beer collection was amazing, as well as wines. The food was delicious too. I also learnt about the significance of it's namesake!

A really lovely cozy pub on a wet day. We ordered the Janine special and the turkey schnitzel and both came quickly and were really yummy and a great size. The prices compared to some places in town were a lot more reasonable. The staff were lovely, although English is limited.

I have had the pleasure of eating and drinking here on several occasions. My German language skills are very poor. But the staff have always made me feel welcome despite me trying hard not to use me native English. The courtyard for me is a great way to unwind after a busy week at work. The service is very good even on busy periods and apart from one meal I had ( which I put down to one of those days) everything I have had has been nice. This is not a fine dining establishment. Went for dinner with family. I had the Sauerbraten which was good. I would have personally preferred it with spaztle rather than noodles. I also tried the bruschetta starter. It had Parmesan grated over it which I wasn't expecting. They didn't really ask about allergies before service which is a given in the UK so do alert them in case you have any. I think considering it wasn't so full the waiter wasn't as attentive as I expected. With drinks taking a little longer. What I did like is that the menu is a reasonable size so you don't get overwhelmed by choice. Would visit to try another dish.
