The food was a real treat. The 1001 Nights starter is definitely highly recommended. Please note: we ordered two starters for five people. That alone is enough to fill you up. The main courses, whether meat or vegetables, were also spot on. The portions were very generous here too. The drinks (wine and beer) are very good. My red wine was excellent and even came from Lebanon. The ambiance pays homage to the region, but is not overdone or kitschy. Completely successful. The service is very polite, but a little slow, which means there are some waiting times.

I spent a lovely evening at Mazza on a brief trip to Hamburg, and I was absolutely delighted by the magical experience being there. The atmosphere, interior architecture, live music, authentic Syrian food (Makloubeh), Lebanese red wine, Cardamom pistachio ice cream with complementary grappa was all delicious and enjoyable.
