cafe needs a deep clean and there were flies on the wall. but a nice component of Freiburg's cafe scene and very busy in the cafe which extends far back from the frontage. amenable English speaking service. the latte macchiato lacked a dense creamy foam, it was a bit light and frothy and had descended before being delivered to the table, but tasted ok. hopefully it can be cleaned and redecorated and maintain its old world charm.

Gorgeous cafe in the centre of Freiburg. The staff are so friendly and attentive. As soon as you walk in and find a table, they are immediately there with a menu. Personal recommendations: hot milk with honey, the Leberwurst baguette and the salmon and cream cheese Laugenstange. I’ve been here many times now both for breakfast and lunch and can’t speak highly of it enough.

What a great experience. Quick, attentive and smiling service. Big delicious Freiburger breakfast which I almost couldn't finish, nice authentic atmosphere in the cafe, good for people-watching. Very much recommended for breakfast in Freiburg.
