We visited Österreich am Markt during the Gera Pottery Market. The concept of combining retail and gastronomy initially seemed interesting and, true to the company's motto, lovingly implemented. As expected, the menu was inspired by Alpine cuisine, offering everything from Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancakes) to apricot dumplings and Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle). The food was decent, but not exceptional. The service was friendly and quite quick. Unfortunately, there were no vegan options, which wasn't surprising given the restaurant's more traditional style.
