This is a genuinely Italian café, with Italian staff, great coffee, sandwiches, and pastries. Most staff are friendly and accommodating. The coffee is among the best in Hamburg, and the sandwiches are delicious. We have tried several different sandwiches during several visits, and all were very good. The location is great, with sun available most of the day. It’s a nice location to enjoy a great coffee and watching people walking by. Go in for the food and desserts. Overpriced drinks. Worth a visit for a good meal. The service was mediocre at best. Coming in from the US and Asia, experiencing the attitude was kind of an eye opener. We stuck around because the pizza and tiramisu were simply divine. A staff at the cash register was annoyingly vocal about us choosing to only order food. We then ordered some drinks, but that was really because in Germany places do not serve water and one does get thirsty. Ambience was nice all things considered.
