Probably one of the worst experiences I have had being a customer at a restaurant. I got seated at the worst and smallest table possible. When asked to seated at another open table, I was told rather rudely they are reserved and offered to seat me with two older gentlemen at a larger table that I didn't know and I was not feeling social. I just wanted to eat and leave. Which is why I sat for 25 minutes at this small table before anyone even came over to get my drink order. I had dinner with my friend who’s a local on Friday night. I wanted to try some typical German cuisine and this place didn’t disappoint! The schnitzel was really tasty and the portions look quite generous. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed and the service friendly. When I’m back in Mainz I will sure revisit.

Ordered the Jagr style (mushroom sauce) pork schnitzel. Was a good and decent schnitzel, though I have had slightly better and bigger portions at other restaurants in the vicinity. Potatoes were a little bland and soggy for me. Came with a reservation and it was quite busy even though it was early for dinner at 5pm. Service as well was a little slow, which is to be expected when it’s busy, but service to our table remained quite slow even when the rush died down. I would still recommend this restaurant though if you’re looking for a good spot for schnitzel and German beer!
