We arrived in the city as tourists, and the first thing that caught my attention was that most of the guests were locals — always a promising sign, especially combined with the restaurant’s high rating. The experience fully lived up to expectations: delicious food, excellent service, and a relaxed atmosphere with no surprises. The schnitzel is highly recommended in all its variations. After eating in two other restaurants in Allgäu, which were just tourist traps despite promising Google reviews, we were delighted with Restaurant Schalander - those very good reviews that this restaurant has are real! There was interesting choice of dishes (hard to decide what to order, because everything looked attractive), the food and drinks were very tasty and our waitress very friendly, with smile on her face the whole time. They use regional high quality ingredients and you can taste that. The prices were normal. When we come back to Allgäu, we know where to eat. :)
