Ace Chiu★★★★Had lunch with a friend at Arcane today. The environment was cozy and quiet, with a relaxed, intimate vibe since it wasn't too crowded. Service was warm and attentive throughout. The food was delicious across the board, focusing on excellent flavors rather than overly extravagant plating. The Chilled nettle velouté with green asparagus and black truffle chantilly was an incredible, refreshing starter for a hot summer day—all the ingredients worked beautifully together. The main was even better: the Braised Fremantle octopus with merguez sausage and caponata was tender, packed with flavor, and honestly one of the best octopus dishes I’ve ever had. I finished with a nice and simple Fourme d'Ambert cheese course. However, the wine service was a disappointment for a Michelin-starred establishment. We ordered three glasses, and the first two happened to be the very last pours of their respective bottles. The alcohol-free Alain Milliat Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs was completely flat with no
Genta★★★★★Had an excellent dining experience at Arcane. The restaurant offers a refined and modern European dining experience with a strong focus on seasonal ingredients, balanced flavors, and understated elegance. The atmosphere is calm, intimate, and very welcoming, with warm interiors and a relaxed fine dining environment that feels sophisticated without being overly formal. Service throughout the evening was attentive, polished, and genuinely warm. Standout dishes included the Japanese fruit tomato starter, sautéed potato gnocchi with truffle, Murray cod, and the Mayura Wagyu rump cap, all beautifully prepared with thoughtful flavor combinations and excellent ingredient quality. The wine pairings were also very well selected and complemented the menu naturally throughout the meal. Overall, Arcane delivers a modern Michelin-starred dining experience that feels elegant, comforting, and quietly luxurious. A wonderful choice for refined European dining in Hong Kong.
Anne D★★★★★The food here is the star of the show. We went with the 5-course menu but added Gnocchi and the off-menu Tortellini—definitely do not skip those. Everything was executed perfectly. Since we couldn't settle on a bottle, we opted for the wine pairing and we’re so glad we did. The sommelier brought out a really interesting wine from vineyards in China (not sure if he said Xinjiang or Ningxia) that was a surprise standout. It was also great to see the Chef (Netflix’s The Final Table) still at the helm after all these years; you can really taste that level of care in every dish. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. If there’s one word to describe the food - FRESH.
Peter Leung★★★★★Been here before, this time sitting at the chef counter was so much better; watching the team of chefs prepare our delicious meal! We went for the set menu, where you get to taste their signature dishes and then some! Wine list is great, also asked if I can waive a free corkage bottle if I purchase one from their list! Highly recommended, definitely worthy for their 1 Michelin Star!
phoebe ditto★★★★A hit and miss experience The appetisers are a let down, the quality and sophistication are not up to Michelin 1 star. Combined with the rather casual and noisy atmosphere, we were initially doubtful about the restaurant . However the main dishes and desserts are outstanding and memorable. My favourite course would be the ~ Sautéed tofu and potato gnocchi with fresh girolle, japanese leek, spinach, hazelnut, white miso and truffle dressing ~ The texture and flavour profiles are so perfectly executed. I also admire the desserts, they are refreshing and not overly sweet, suitable for picky hongkongers. ~Yuzu and lemon posset, white chocolate tuile, blood orange and yoghurt icecream ~ ~ Pate de fruit, vanilla canele, chocolate cannoli ~ The price is around 1500 per head. Overall it is worth a try but not a revisit.
Michelle Booher★★★★★Food was impeccable, the tasting menu is definitely worth it - they include the “must try” items and well as open your palate up to additional dishes. The staff is lovely - times the service well, describes the wine, offers a great selection of post-dinner drinks. Food-wise - the gnocchi is the star of the show. The wagyu beef is great, but a bit on the rich side - a balanced well by the smaller portion size which you would get in the tasting menu. Looking forward to trying another time as well.
Q kwan★★★★★We went during the HK Dining city promotion to this relaxed 1 star fine dinning restaurant. Very delicious but not pretentious dishes. While Chef Osborne is from Australia, he uses quite a lot Asian Pacific ingredients. Wine list is extensive and wine services professional. Its summer wine offer should not be missed. A very enjoyable dinner. We definitely will visit again.
Marius Wirtz★★★Not an upscale fine dining restaurant. The service is friendly and considerate, but also rather casual. We had a tasting menu. The best dishes were mushroom foam they served at the start and wagyu. The rest were tasty but nothing to write home about. Wine paring was good. If this was not a Michelin 1 star rated place I might have considered 4 stars, but overall too distant of a Michelin star experience in my reference with both food and service lacking touch of sophistication.
