Tried the Jasmine Negroni at Carrots Bar and really enjoyed how unique it was. It still carries that classic bitter Negroni character, but the jasmine tea and local tea blend give it a softer, more aromatic twist. Herbal, slightly floral, and very fragrant — feels like a Southeast Asian interpretation of a Negroni rather than just a gimmick cocktail. Definitely something interesting if you enjoy spirit-forward drinks. But surprisingly, my favorite of the night was actually the Baba Daiquiri that I got to try thanks to a fellow guest at the bar. Smooth, creamy, slightly toasty, with a really comforting vanilla and passionfruit combination. The texture was silky and super easy to drink. Compared to the Jasmine Negroni, the Baba Daiquiri felt more fun and approachable while still tasting refined. One of the best bars in Jakarta hands down. A smaller, probably 20-30 people spot tucked in a basement parking lot under the Fairgrounds SCBD complex, so it definitely gives off speakeasy vibes but with no pretension. Bar staff are friendly. Drinks have always been innovative since the first time I came here and the menu rotates.

Proper speakeasy energy — tucked away near what feels like a parking area, easy to miss, but worth finding. Jakarta has no shortage of “ranked” bars. Some deserve it. Carrots does. The cocktails are genuinely innovative, structured, and balanced. Not gimmicky, not sugar-driven. The first time I went with two friends, we almost worked through the entire menu (skipping only the obviously sweet options). That rarely happens. On subsequent business trips, whenever other bars felt underwhelming or predictable, I’d come back here for a dependable, high-standard drink. If I had one suggestion, it would be more frequent menu rotations — I’d love an excuse to explore new ideas next time. Serious bar. Thoughtful execution. I’ll keep returning.

Total mood. Cozy cocktail bar tucked away in the carpark basement of the complex. I dig the concept of communal connection, which is a change of pace from the typical cocktail bars. It’s intimate and great for conversations. The music is vibey which kept the energy just right without being too loud. As always I love a 2x2 grid menu. Their cocktails utilise local ingredients (eg toasted milk) and I quite enjoyed their Zen Chapel (very easy to drink, sour flavour Gin).
