Stopped by for lunch and coffee and had such a lovely experience. The outdoor seating area is beautifully organized, with tables thoughtfully arranged to create a comfortable atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and seated. Our waiter, Egidio, was wonderful — very friendly, attentive, and helpful with the menu. Since I’m pregnant, I had quite a few questions about the food to make sure I was choosing safe options. Elena also came to assist and reassured me that the restaurant is very pregnancy-friendly, with ingredients being pasteurized and dishes properly cooked.

First opened in 1733 and it definitely looks the part, beautiful surroundings for your morning coffee and treat. If you order at the bar it's so much cheaper than sitting. For €9 we got 2 coffee's and 2 croissants (they were great !). I think that's the cheapest quick breakfast we have had in Italy because we didn't sit at a table and by far one of the best

Gilli was truly one of the highlights of my trip to Florence. The atmosphere is elegant, timeless, and full of history. Sitting by the window overlooking Piazza della Repubblica while enjoying a beautiful dessert made for an unforgettable experience. The Millefoglie was absolutely exceptional.
