The meat is excellent, especially the hanith and mandi. They offer various types of rice, including biryani, kabuli, and white rice. A variety of indoor and outdoor seating options are available. I’m not too familiar with Ethiopian / Afghan food. It was better than the medium size town in the US. Large portion. I think I had goat bc as soon as I sat down at 10:15am, the waitress came 30 seconds later with expectation of food and drink. I ordered a double caffe macchiato but she still waited. I was going to order a breakfast but another waiter so lunch is being served. I had way more food than I wanted bc I wasn’t even hungry. For the dish with rice, small soup, and two kinds of meat, very good. 4 star. But I rounded up bc it was better for Nairobi (to me). I’ll add one more picture when I get to my digital camera later.

One of the cleanest and most beautiful Arabic restaurants in central Nairobi – and definitely the only one where I ended up drinking camel milk like a local sheikh! The food? Delicious. The options? Wild – goat, camel, you name it (just get there early if you want to try them). Our waitress was so sweet, helpful, and patient – honestly, coming back just to be served by her again! Food arrived in under 10 minutes, and prices didn’t give me a heart attack – so that’s a win. Highly recommended – and don’t skip the camel milk , it’s a whole vibe.

The people working here were really nice and welcoming. We ordered the afghan chicken pilau and chicken biryani - both were excellent. The chicken from the afghan pilau was moist and delicious and had a really nice savoury flavor. The rice was also moist and savoury but not spicy. The biryani was incredible - chicken was good and the rice was packed with spices and herbs. They were both very different (despite them both being rice and chicken) and I liked them equally a lot! The hot ginger drink was also great. It's nice to sit on the balcony and watch the city below.

What I love the best about this place is the location overlooking the MacMillan Library and the streets below with the ICEA building in the distance. The balcony is the best place to sit. The staff are friendly and responsive. Your food arrives in less than a couple of minutes. It's a fast paced restaurant and can get busy. The pilau isn't the best I have had but it wasn't too bad. The portions however, still leave you hungry afterward. It's popular with Somalis as you would imagine from it's name. They could improve their responsiveness to customer orders though.
