Sudhan Subedi★★★★★If you're looking for a place in Thamel where the night can slow down and end on a pleasant note, this is a wonderful choice. On a quiet evening, with good music playing in the background, the atmosphere feels relaxed and inviting. What stood out to me was their excellent selection of fresh salads—something not always easy to find. At the same time, they have a well-curated Nepali menu that caters perfectly to local tastes, making it a great option for both Nepali and international visitors. Whether you're wrapping up a day of exploring Kathmandu or simply looking for a comfortable spot to unwind, this is one of those places where you can sit back, enjoy the ambience, and let the night linger a little longer. recommended.
Anshul Patro★★★★Tried Black Olives Cafe & Bar and had a really pleasant experience overall. The ambiance is beautiful and cozy, especially the outdoor seating—it gives a very relaxed vibe perfect for a chill evening. We ordered the traditional Nepali thali, which was quite good. The variety and flavors were satisfying, and it felt like a wholesome meal. Also tried the veg biryani, which was flavorful and nicely cooked. The only small downside was the mix veg in the thali, which felt slightly undercooked and could have been better. Overall, a great place for good food and a lovely atmosphere.
Elizabeth Guzman★★★★★Amazing food and service, hot rum was delicious drink on cold night, it was perfect. Dinner was delicious! I had the grilled chicken and veggies, portion was big, so plan accordingly! Of course we order dessert and those where amazing as well. Very good location, close to our hotel, walking distance just couple minutes. Many shops around, great location. Music, and ambience very inviting. Recommend if you ever in Thamel area.
Nicole Tan★★★★This was a place filled with foreigners, but that doesn't mean the food wasn't authentic or that it was bad. We had dinner here the first night because it was right across where we stayed. Then, our local guides brought us here again on the last night of our trip. I enjoyed the chicken breast skewers and the mutton briyani. The briyani was bursting with flavours from the spices, and tasted different from what I've had back home or in India. As with most places in Nepal, expect to wait upwards of 30mins for food.

Tim Burrows★★★★★The tastiest breakfasts that I had in Nepal were at this patio restaurant. They offered full-flavored filter coffee, good bread, fresh fruit, and a nice Nepali omelette (with cumin and vegetables). They randomly tossed a couple of black olives into the fruit -- maybe that is the source of the name? The momos were equally impressive, and were served with a little cabbage salad on the side. The place may have a connection to Israel, judging by some of the offerings. Prices are average for the area.
SM Gearspec★★★★★Right next to a lot of popular hotel. Great wholesome and nice place to get drinks and good food. I stayed at Hotel Marshyangdi for 8 days, which is right next to this. It was really convenient to just hop on over and get some good food.
Soniel Sony★★★★Visited Black olives with a friend for a couple of drinks. The ambiance is outdoorsy which is what I usually prefer. The vibe was good. Service is ok and can be improved. The waiters are really sweet but lack training. We had a couple of sangria and Bailey, which was made well and nice blend. For munching we had Chilly Fries, which tasted really good with the right amount of spices. Nice place for a candle lit dinner. PS: they show extra warmth if you are a foreigner. Locals + Browns they don't care much. Nepalis weren't like this but things are changing!
