Stopped by for an early morning breakfast. Had a crispy and creamy Pistachio Xiuxo, and a Coffee with milk. This was paired with a bitter, but tasty stick of chocolate. Loved how the slight bitterness of the coffee and chocolate balanced out the sweetness of the Xuixo. In short, great place for an early breakfast with friendly staff.

I found Casa Vives completely by accident, but wow, what a great accident that turned out to be. After tasting the most delicious macarons I have ever had, I noticed the sign showing they were established in 1895. At that moment I literally thought, wow… that explains everything. You can taste the history, craftsmanship, and pride in every bite. This isn’t just a bakery, it’s an experience, and one that instantly became a highlight of my time in Barcelona.

Recently tried the strawberry and pistachio croissants here in Barcelona, and they were absolutely delightful! The strawberry croissant was bursting with fresh fruitiness, while the pistachio croissant offered a rich, nutty taste. Friendly service and delicious pastries made it a nice discovery in the area. Lovely breakfast spot just 3 mins from our accommodation! They have a wide selection of sweet treats, pastries and sandwiches to choose from. Daily fresh coffee paired with a pastry a day, from a financier to a palmier to donuts (2-3 because of their size!) to a chocolate croissant before finally taking away a whole bunch of savoury croissants and skinny baguettes for our trip to Rome. We have missed our getting our breakfast fix here and we will back for me the next time we’re in Barcelona!
