We were lucky to get here during the low hours, so we got seated and served quite fast. After us a large group of at least 30 people came, and we stopped existing for the server 😅 The papet vaudoise was good, nice and greasy just the way you'd expect it, but the beef with sauce parisien was not more than passable, chewy and forgettable. Good for a one-time feast of Swiss-specific meals but not recommending that to someone who just wants to dine, there are many other better options

Stepping into this officially recognized historical restaurant in Lausanne is like stepping back in time. The dining room is absolutely charming, and the service was impeccable. The food was also good. For a classic brasserie meal, you can't go wrong and for vegetarians and vegans, their red lentil dish is a very tasty option!

To my surprise Cafe Romand was almost empty when visiting tonight. We had an excellent dinner - speedy, competent waiters, a tasty moitié-moitié fondue and excellent dried meat. Still after having been here many times over years a reliable, fairly priced place for the classics in an unbeatable location, and no-frills historic ambiance.

The café offers traditional Swiss cuisine and has an old-world charm. The waiters were really nice and funny, although the service was extremely slow. I enjoyed the fondue and the meringue with Gruyère double cream; however, the Malakoff was just okay.
