“Not crowded on a weekday afternoon. It's an interesting railway-themed cafe, and most people were there for the photos. The coffee-shaped egg cakes tasted like childhood. Simple, and fluffy. Kind of like crispy little pancakes, too. Great with honey.”
“Great vibe railway cafe that you can spend an afternoon relaxing at. I heavily recommend ordering a pudding and their Americano coffee as both were so good.”

Alycia Teo★★★★★Found this by accident. It's a lovely, quaint and cosy cafe. The Honeycomb toffee latte was surprisingly good. The toffee tasted had a nice burnt taste ans gave a lot of flavour to the coffee. The Osmanthus latte was pleasantly floral and a nice touch to our afternoon. The staff was also very polite :) Note that it only opens from 12pm - 6pm and closes on Tuesdays. I was too full to try the cakes, which looks so good. Hope to come back again!

Hana V.★★★★★Cute, quiet and cozy cafe located just outside the Taichung Station. Cool exterior from a repurposed old train car, and an interior filled with cutesy, artsy, nostalgic trinkets from the past. Since the premises is small, the experience is timed to til 90mins per group/customer, which will countdown as soon as you are led to your table and scanned the qr code. Ordering is thru that qr as well. Efficient. Fast service but without compromising the quality. The menu gets easily sold out. By the time we came in, the only pastry left was Lemon Tart. It was such a cool experience.
Charles Lee★★★★★Visited during the Christmas season. A unique café inside a retired train carriage with a nostalgic, retro vibe, perfect for photos and a cozy coffee break. Drinks and desserts are tasty, especially the lattes and sweet treats, though menu variety is a bit limited. Seating is small, but the atmosphere makes it worth a visit.
Isabelle L★★★★Limited seating, super cute interior concept, but the drinks were okay. Most of their items are coffee and I personally don’t enjoy coffee, so I chose to order the lemon tea and it was minty, which is a flavor I typically don’t enjoy. However, the person who went with me ordered a latte and said it was smooth and delicious. Overall, though, Mamonaku Cafe is DEFINITELY worth the visit for its theme as an old train cart and unique atmosphere. Recommend!
Per★★★★★Please remember to go get a booking first! You would probably be asked to come back at a certain time period and you could wander around the area in the meantime. We got lucky because a group of customers left the cafe soon after we were told to wait 30 minutes (on a weekday). The sesame and hojicha basque cheesecakes were both deliciously creamy. I preferred the black sesame one personally and would recommend! The interior design is very well-done. We sat at the very end of the cafe, next to the window that shows the train tracks. It was a slightly cramped seating space understandably as it was renovated from the area from which people board the train or get off to the platform. Nonetheless, great view and experience. Waiting time could have been less but the staff were very busy. Lastly, a reminder that the maximum dining time is 90 minutes.

Felix M.★★★★„The espresso that almost didn’t happen 😄” Lovely café inside an old train wagon — great vibe! At first they said they couldn’t make espresso because they had no espresso cups 😅 But in the end, they did — and it was actually quite good. Sometimes, the best coffee is the one you have to fight for and smile your way into. ☕️
