Absolutely great spot - in the heart of Stonetown. Went there for breakfast. Bit tricky to find, but once you go to IG, great guide how to find the stairs up to the restaurant. They have a spacious, airy terrace, fun to watch people (tourists) walking on the street. Or just hide yourself. Haha The brekki plate was delicious, full of with nourishing food : swahili & international. More than what I expected, so you have to be really hungry to finish all. Drink : mango coconut sago / out of heaven. I shall be able to sip it every day till end of my life , was insane !!!! Try try try - yummm Yeoyum ✨

YeoYum Nice balcony with a gentle breeze. Warm welcome from staff from both YeoYum and Ashley Maybe. Pleasant, gentle background music. Service was attentive and prompt. Advised that I could mix and match from either menu, which expands the options. I arrived early evening and there were not many customers so atmosphere was a bit flat. Ordered soda without ice and KFC with lemon yoghurt dressing. Soda arrived very quickly and was nicely chilled and served with a paper straw not a glass (because I declined ice?). The yoghurt dressing was pretty bland, with not much taste apart from sweet notes. The slaw was also missing some seasoning, and adding the dressing didn’t improve it much. The chips were ok, but, like the chicken lacked any bite. The chicken disappointed in that I was hoping for something with a crunch but I didn’t get it. It tasted fine, sweet but not too sweet, with a hint of spice that I’d prefer to have been turned up. The meal was served in a wooden box and at first sight

What a pleasant surprise to find a vegan friendly restaurant! I had an OG Box with plantain and Pili Pili sauce. It was delicious and I ate everything down to the last grain of delicious coconut rice. I would suggest more peanuts, as it’s the only protein but this is not a complaint. Service was great and friendly. I docked a star because there was a chain smoker on the balcony and that was not the greatest. We could have gone inside, but the balcony is so much nicer.
