Popped into the Garden Gate for desert and a pint today, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Beautifully lit, it was cozy and comfortable. The service was fantastic, Gina certainly made my partner and I feel welcome and well looked after. Our food arrived promptly, perfect temperature and was a delight to the taste. Highly recommend spot to stop by either solo or with friends and family. Very close to Hampstead Heath Station and the Heath itself, plenty of busses also passing by. Dog friendly, well decorated, professional.

The food is some of the worst I’ve had in London. And it’s overpriced slop. My daughter’s pasta was inedible. It was soggy, microwaved and tasted awful. My chicken roast was also inedible. The chicken wasn’t hot, the veggies looked like they’d been chewed before being served. It was genuinely shocking! The waitress I spoke to was absolutely lovely. I felt bad for complaining as she was so apologetic, and she dealt with it really well and offered me a refund. However, her manager was really rude. We ordered the cheeseburger and pancetta burger thinking they were from the garden grill, priced at £11.50 — which seemed like great value. However, when I went to order at the bar, I was told they were actually £21.50 each. I had already ordered two, so it was too late to change — at that point I thought, this better be one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, it was the complete opposite. Excellent service from Ivy our waitress she was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately our roasts were pretty poor . Flat yorkies and pretty rock hard potatoes. Terrible situation with the frame loos too. Will be back for a drink but probably not to eat
