20 years ago this was one of the best pubs in the area. The Wheatsheaf always had a great atmosphere. Unfortunately I can't say the same nowadays. £3.15 for half a pint, making it around £6.30 for a pint of Guinness. That's around a pound more than the area average. Tea time on a weekday used to have a slow and steady inflow of regulars, but it was completely empty. I know pubs in general aren't as busy as they used to be, but it's a long time since I've been the only drinker in the house at 5PM. Inside the pub, the drinking areas clean and nicely decorated to suit the style. The male toilets

Well what can I say, stubbled upon this absolute gem of a pub. Beautiful decor with such friendly and welcoming staff. Amber & Emily served us with a smile and made us feel right at home. Hats off to the Chef, the food was absolutely delicious, I honestly can’t say anything bad about this place. Lovely beer garden with seating and benches. Definitely worth a stop off. Thank you for having us. We will be back.

Went for the 2 course Christmas menu (11/12/25) and wasn't disappointed. The turkey main was fabulous. Everything cooked to perfection and plenty of it. Finished off with Christmas pudding and cream. Also had a coffee which was pretty darn good too. Hats off to the chef and his helpers plus to Amber who was front of house. Always such a warm welcome when we go.
