Stopped by Browns for breakfast and it’s a solid little spot, especially if you’re up early. Opening from 07:30 is ideal if you want to get a proper start to the day. It’s very much a classic greasy spoon — no frills, just good, hearty food done right. Exactly what you want in the morning. The portions are decent, it’s reasonably priced, and it hits the spot. Nothing fancy, but that’s part of the charm. If you’re after a straightforward, satisfying breakfast without any fuss, this is a great place to go.

We had a positive experience overall. The staff were amazing, so friendly and genuinely helpful, nothing ever felt like too much trouble. I initially ordered an Americano but quickly changed my mind when I spotted the lovely large teapot and proper cup of tea, which didn’t disappoint. The food arrived hot and was enjoyed by everyone at the table, we all finished our meals, which says a lot. The only downside was the lack of a toilet on-site. We visited recently and really enjoyed the food — the fish and chips were good quality, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, the experience was let down by the lack of a toilet on site. Had we known this in advance, we likely would have chosen somewhere else to eat. We were visiting with small children and had to leave the café and go beyond the train station to find public toilets, which wasn’t ideal.
