Even when I overheard a customer being extremely rude over a jute box glitch, she dealt with it so professionally and attempted to fix the situation immediately. It’s a sunny Wednesday. The pub is heaving. It’s 21:40 and the night is just starting to get going. We’ve decided to give the lodge another chance because it’s sunny and they do have a good beer garden. Once again the staff come round and tell us it is last orders. I repeat. 21:40. My friends and I do this dance about once a year and always regret it. I always wonder if the staff consider why it’s so quiet? It’s because when you train your customers that they can’t trust you to stay open to a reasonable time, they don’t come down at 9, they don’t come down at 8. I wouldn’t even go at 7. What

Always enjoy going here, always bust but they will always try and accommodate you. However went last week (with a booking) and they closed the kitchen for orders twice. This resulted in a significant wait, but the food was good when it finally arrived.
