My partner wanted us to go there whilst on holiday because she'd read an article saying they did the best pastries in Edinburgh. Seemed a stretch, but I could now believe it. Really nice people, both sides of the counter. Not the poshist looking shop, but I like that because it's honest, & you can just taste that all the work really does go into the baking.

Always looks grim and closed from the outside, with windows always shuttered. The interior is very utilitarian and dusty. But don't let that deter you! One of the BEST bakeries in Edinburgh. Best apple turnover with cream you will have in your life!

I'd been wanting to check this wee bakery for a while but it's out the way for me. Decided to stop off on the way to my parents and I wasn't disappointed! The morning rolls were the best I've had since I was a kid and the apple turnover was incredible. Friendly staff and great prices - worth the detour!
