Visited Maggie Dickson’s Pub and had a great experience. The pub has an interesting history behind both its name and the building, which adds a unique touch to the visit. I ordered the fish and chips, and they were excellent. The food was fresh, flavorful, and arrived quickly. Drinks were also served promptly, which was appreciated given how busy the pub can get. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and despite the crowds, everything felt clean, organized, and well managed. Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy a meal, grab a drink, and soak in a bit of Edinburgh’s history.

Went for lunch so the experience doesn’t include the live music or sampling of their whisky. The menus hint at a greater evening experience. Food was delicious albeit a bit slow in the arrival. It’s named after a famous Scottish woman - whom I let discover on your own.

I loved it here. Good atmosphere, a very helpful waitress helping us to choose a whiskey, and fantastic fish and chips. The only criticism is to just keep the music to a level that’s not too loud. Most of the time they did, but I think someone’s favourite song came on and they turned it up a bit too much.

Great atmosphere and live music! The staff was great as they let us put in a last minute food order with only minutes until they closed the kitchen. Highly recommend a pint and a burger as you chat with the locals and enjoy the local music!!!
