Palmerston was an excellent lunch experience. We ordered the lamb roast, cod with beans, and calamari, and each dish was very well executed. The complimentary sourdough bread was a nice touch, served with a generous helping of butter. The pricing is a bit higher than a typical lunch spot, but the portions are substantial, and the value feels more justified given the quality of cooking, attentive service, and their nose-to-tail approach to butchery. We were on a waitlist but the team kindly emailed to inform us we could grab two bar seats, so we were able to enjoy our first dinner in Edinburgh at The Palmerston. The food was solid and the ambiance was good. The bread and butter were top notch, and we really enjoyed our mains (the porchetta and the hake). Everything was fresh and portions were a good size. Would happily come back here next time I’m in the area.

We spent a fantastic evening here. The menu is changing daily. They take a lot of pride in their products that they cook and serve. Our waiter Jimmy took great care of us, explaining the orign and preperation of the meats, ingredients and Whisky. The vension was super tender and the rabit leg with chickpeas and chorizo was loaded with flavour. All dishes we had where delicious. We wished we would live closer for a more frequent visit.
