Do not go here for Sunday Lunch. A truly appalling experience. Lumps of meat, not carved, ONE hard roast potato and a commercially purchased TINY Yorkshire pudding that was soft and only slightly warm. It was YUK. Disgusted. The manager had no idea what was going on, chaos. My starter was whitebate, again, a frozen commercial product that was heated up, processed and almost inedible. It was just horrible. Plus it’s over priced for what it is. A total disaster, waste of time and money. Looking at previous good reviews for their Sunday lunch from 9 months earlier, I can only presume this pub is

Great traditional pub serving well made home cooked food. Well presented and choice of food is good, only let down is daughter drinks are same as most other pubs. Staff are great and usually see the owner flying around being a great host

I wanted a traditional English food at an English pub. And I got it right there! The essence of the fireplace, either you love it or hate it, but it adds to the ambiance of the establishment and the authenticity of the place. I also got to chat with a few locals. It is a lovely place.
