This is one of the best West End spots we've been to recently. It's not just the pizza, which is absolutely 10/10 (perfect base, not too thin, generous toppings, beautiful flavour combos) - it's the overall vibe and character of the place. Warm and relaxed staff, big green plants around the windows, an excellent BYOB policy, and top-notch tunes (at the perfect volume for conversation) all add up to a wonderful scene. The restaurant is perfect. I ordered 2 pizzas, mac & cheese bon bons, chips with parmesan and truffle oil, chocolate brownie with ice cream. The staff is professional and kind, the service is awesome, the food is amazing. All the food was fresh and made perfectly. I had a great experience at Basta, the restaurant itself is easy to find at the bottom of Dumbarton Road and has a lovely interior, full of character which makes it a great place to eat. The pizza was well cooked, with a good sugo and had generous toppings. We went for option 2 (tomatoes, artichoke, pesto and peppers) and option 5 (olives and capers sans chovies).
