Marie-Christine Wilks★★★★★Went as a family for a birthday meal on quite a busy Saturday after booking ahead. Just wished we had asked for a table with less passage to accommodate a high chair and push chair! We'll know next time. Delicious food arrived in very good time and attentive service.
Joshua Cope★★★★We called in advance as were attending the Hazzlitt theatre and were offered a discounted 2 course meal. Myself and my partner wanted to make sure it was wheelchair accessible, which it very much was and they made sure to book a table that would be appropriate. The food came out very quickly and was delicious. The servers were all very kind, though it seemed they did not communicate as we were served by multiple people doing the same things at times. Wonderful atmosphere and would be keen to return.
I. C.★★★I’ve been visiting this restaurant almost monthly, but unfortunately I’ve noticed a decline in the quality of the meat dishes over my last two visits. On my previous visit, I ordered the beef Bourguignon and found the meat quite tough and dry. This time, I chose the lamb chops, which were overcooked, and about half of the portion consisted of fat or bone. Disappointing for what should have been a highlight dish. Fortunately, the sole was prepared perfectly, crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. I’m hoping the mussels will return to the menu soon.
Saul★★★★★We stopped by Frederic Bistro in Maidstone for lunch and had a really lovely meal. The beef bourguignon was rich, tender and full of flavour, and the chicken was great too. We shared a raspberry tart for dessert, which just melted in the mouth. The service was friendly and relaxed, and although the atmosphere was fairly casual, the open kitchen at the back gave it a nice, unique touch. We hadn’t booked but managed to get a table just by turning up — the place was quite busy, which says a lot! For two mains, one dessert and a drink each, the bill came to about £60 before tip, and we added 10%
