Oxleas Wood Cafe

I've heard great things about this café and on our way into Oxleas Wood, we paid it a visit. The food menu is extensive and reasonably priced. Although we only took a couple of bottles of water, everything looked delicious and the crowds sitting in there and outside were all clearly very happy. There's plenty of seating outside and whereas theres less inside, it is spacious. Great service too; very warm and friendly. I'm definitely going to come back to try the all day breakfast!

Lovely little Cafè with beautiful surroundings. We popped by for a light bite and enjoy a bit of sun and the views 😎 Just a couple of sandwiches and baguettes. I opted for the BLT and although the baguette was as you would expect, crunchy/crust and warm soft bread within, I would have preferred the bacon to salad ratio to be more in favour of the bacon, minimum of 2 rashers at least but I only had one. Admittedly it was busy and the food was brought out efficiently so a verbal mention didn't seem fair at the time. Kids enjoyed theirs and the Wife said it seemed well priced considering.

Look, you don't go to this cafe because it's got the best food, table service or has a buzz about it. You go because it's in a great location, it's cheap and cheerful, and there's something very nostalgic about this kind of cafe - and in all those aspects its perfect. Fair warning, on a sunny weekend day, it's mission impossible to find a table outside and there's queues out the door for service. On poor days, it can be tricky to nab one of the few tables indoors and you're crammed in. However, for a hearty omelette, a toasted cheese or a budget burger enjoyed after a brisk walk through a bea
