DISAPPOINTING AND AVERAGE… Cod, chips and peas £14.00. I grew up in a chippy not far from here but now live abroad and really miss ‘proper’ fish and chips so, as I’m ‘home’ for a few weeks I’d do some ‘research’ and enjoy some nice meals at the same time…. I chose ‘Darren’s’ as a few friends had recommended them so I was really looking forward to a nice meal BUT here’s my findings… REGULAR COD £8.60, 7 OUT OF 10: Initial thoughts, small, no large option, batter looked ok. I was incorrect on my interpretation of the size as it was quite heavy, the fish itself was a little too ‘wet’ and slimy

Absolutely fantastic place, the staff were friendly. Very accommodating to my daughter singing Johnny Cash on repeat. 10 inch pizza and a big bad boy filled wrap for £17 is incredible value for money in this day and age. We watched them prepare our order from fresh. Tasty and delicious but the staff made this overall experience for us, we will definitely be returning ❤️

First time eating at Darrens and we would thoroughly recommend them. These were the best fish and chips we have eaten in many years, bringing back memories of how they used to taste when we were kids. Tasty, crispy chips and perfectly cooked fish with great batter and piping hot too. Will definitely be going back for more!

Amazing service husband ran out for dinner after an extremely long day and forgot his wallet they were brilliant let him come home with the food an just ring back to pay absolutely amazing! Thank you for making a long day end on a good note!
