AVOID (unless you have no taste and are from Rochdale) I was travelling from south to Yorkshire. Motorway ahead was shut due to an accident and I was starving. So i heard alot of reviews about this place. Got off the motorway and went here for fish & chips. Staff seems extremely unprofessional. Dazed I would say. As I was giving the order, it felt like speaking to a blank wall. As the person taking order was looking straight over my shoulders lol. The person serving seemed to have taken something. I asked for fish & chips two portions was there was two of us. Was told no fish was left. So I as

Usually this chip shop is the place to go. Their chips are outstanding but recently they are slightly different and not the same taste anymore. Service is good, staff are polite. Street parking only but it's hard to find a stop.

Very rude staff — they seriously need to learn some basic manners. The shop was dirty, and the hygiene standards were unacceptable. Staff were handling food without gloves, and one employee was even picking their nose in front of customers. Overall, a very unpleasant experience. They should rename the place “Local Rubbish Chippy.”
