Used to be a great chip shop. Not sure if it’s new owners or the owner is letting their children manage the shop. The service has gone massivley downhill recently. Could easily be rectified if the server actually bothered to take the slightest bit of interest in the customer, or, heaven forbid he takes his airpods out so he could hear. Wont be spending an other penny in here.

Stopped in here last night and was pleasantly surprised at how professional, friendly, and accommodating the staff were. Located at 249 Crookes Five Star Fish Bar in Sheffield is a top quality old school chippy. They have a large menu with both lunchtime and all-day deal specials. I got a large fish and large chips, and both portions were generous. The fish was cooked to perfection and tasted fresh, lining up with their sourced daily promise. This chippy had to be one of the best we been to yet. They offer special deals on nearly everything , all cooked whilst we waited. The young lady was so pleasant and helpful. The fish is fabulous 👌🏼, the large was well very large, they gravy is lovely. So if your ever in Sheffield it's worth paying a visit at large fish chips and a side for less than £9 (bargain) Full star rating from us. Thank you.

Service is terrible, large fish is just two small fish. Fish was old, batter was soggy and sloppy in parts. Chips were anemic and soggy. Really needs to up it's game here. Would recommend anywhere else. The guy who was cooking the fish was pretty rude to the lady who was working with him too which put another bad vibe on the whole experience. Cash only too which is always a sign of something a bit sketchy.
