Wonderful wee cafe with fantastic brunch dishes. We had a breakfast burrito - eggs, beans, cheese, spinach, and a brioche bun with eggs, halloumi, hash brown and chilli jam. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back.

Yanks like us, unrepentant tourists, who adore the depths of your history so much that we will fly halfway around the world, with children in tow, hop two trains and a “tram,” and gladly march up any hill that claims an historic site on the top, much less a castle (!), even on a blustery day in the middle of March, have only just a “wee” request. Coffee, please! Throughout the day, if you don’t mind. The UK, with a coffee culture over 370 years old, laughs, but not unkindly. Patiently. There is a person I was before the seasonal rosemary latte and the person I am now. So incredible at the first sip that I made a ridiculous face, just flat out a 😯 in the middle of the restaurant. I don’t know how long they’re keeping it on so go get it, now! I also had the hash brown and halloumi brioche and it was lovely! Husband got bacon pancakes and a hot chocolate, also superb. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had in a good long while. I’m eager to come back and try everything.
